Calando is Japanese fruit liquor made from Kabosu fruit. Kabosu is an evergreen juicy citrus fruit closely related to Yuzu. It it is popular in Japan and often used for cooking such as mixed with vinegar or extra citrus juice for sashimi, grilled fish and hot pot etc. Oita prefecture, located in north west of Kyushu Island, is famous region for Kabosu harvest. Also Oita prefecture is famous for good Mugi (barley) Shochu making. Yatsushika Shuzo produces this new sensation of Kabosu liquor, simply by mixing 100% Oita grown Kabosu juice infused in their famous Shochu. It has a beautiful orange zesty fragrance with sharp sourness of lemon like but slightly different from those citruses. It has a nice sweetness all way through and low alcohol 8% is good when you just want to have a bit of refreshment on your pallet while you enjoy your meal. or simply while you relax yourself after a busy day.
