Nakano Shuzo is 130 years old small sake brewery from Oita prefecture. Oita is located north east of Kyushu Island, south side of Japan. very famous region for barley shochu but not so famous for Nihonshu (sake). But there are still 13 local sake breweries are brewing sake and Nakano Shuzo may be the top craft brewery in this region. Nakano Shuzo has the best water in a region from 200m deep from the ground. This water became very famous in the world after they won the Trophy Gold Medal at Mondo Selection for 3 years running. Chiebijin Junmai Ginjo is aromatic, fresh juicy & semi dry sake which is Nakano Shuzo's now famous for. Beautiful aroma such as white peach, fresh strawberry & melon. Quite soft on front palate then sweetness slowly going through your mid to back palate with nice little dryness. Beautiful shaped sake as its name CHIE would look like. (CHIE was a wife of the founder of Nakano Shuzo). Best Junami Ginjo we found in 2015. Must try.
